Incidental/ reimbursement

Depending on the nature of your injuries, liability of the Fund and the monies available, a consideration for amendment of offer will be made.

Medical Assistance

The Fund will cover 100% on condition that a letter of exhaustion from the medical aid is until the next financial year where your Medical aid funds have been reinstated. submitted.

The Fund will continue to assist you with in incidental claims if your claim is not limited.
Monies will be reverted to the Fund for limited claims after a time prescribed by the Fund or until stabilization is achieved, whichever occurs first

Treatment is authorised telephonically for emergency cases by the Case Manager on standby

Yes. The Fund is liable for your co-payment if you are on medical aid. The Medical aid is your primary health insurer and the Fund is secondary.

Right of Recourse (ROR)

Your employment status does not exempt you from settling your debt.

Road Safety

Periodically the Fund conduct surveys to measure the effectiveness of the road safety measures.

General

No, MVA Fund is not liable for any damaged property.

No, MVA Fund covers for injuries sustained from road traffic accidents that happened within boarders of Botswana.

If you’re injured in a road accident during your visit to Botswana, notwithstanding the provisions of the MVA Fund Act, the Fund may be able to help with the cost of treatment and support you need whilst in the country but once you return to your country the benefits cease. However, it is important to be aware that the Fund cannot be sued for personal injury.

MVA Fund only covers treatment and rehabilitation costs while you are in Botswana; it is therefore not a replacement for travel insurance and does not cover illness, disrupted travel plans or emergency travel to get you back home.

MVA Fund aims to provide a high standard of customer service at all times. If you’re unhappy about how your claim has been dealt with or with a decision that has been made, please let us know through Customer Services Unit. We want to resolve things fairly and as quickly as possible.

If you are unhappy about the management of your claim, you can make a complaint. You can lodge a complaint in the form of writing and your concerns will be considered in our own internal Complaint Resolution.

If you happen to change your address kindly inform MVA Fund through Customer Services Unit.

If you are on any Medical Aid Scheme, the Medical Aid has to pay its contribution for treatment expenses relating to your injuries, and if you have incurred some expenses such as Reimbursements, the Fund may reimbursed them to you.

All queries in relation to invoice payment should be addressed to the Financial Accountant. The query will be solved within a period of one to two days depending on the nature of the query. The Finance Department will endeavour to communicate with the Service Provider at all times during the query resolution.
