Mr.Itumeleng Morwe

Mr Itumeleng Morwe joined the Fund in November 2019.He is charged with monitoring and reviewing the activities of the Fund ensuring effectiveness and compliance with internal control systems and procedures with the aim of reducing potential risks, protecting the assets of the Fund and ensuring optimal utilisation of assets and resources of the Fund. The department also enhances corporate governance charters within the Fund. Mr. Morwe functionally reports to Board of Directors via the Audit and Risk Committee and administratively to the Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Morwe started his career in 2006 in PWC as a graduate auditor. He rose through the ranks over the years and was seconded to the Madison Office in Manhattan New York, United States of America in 2011 as part of the global development program of the Firm. Prior to joining the Fund, he was transferred to the PWC Manchester office in the United Kingdom as an Audit Manager where he worked primarily on the audit of Pension and Retirement Plans and other financial services clients. He also worked for Stanlib Investment Management Services (Pty) Ltd, currently Vunani as the Chief Operations Officer where was responsible for finance, operations, risk management and human resource management.

Mr Morwe is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He is a fellow member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK. He is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Botswana. Lastly, he holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree, conferred by the University of South Africa and a Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance (short term) from the Insurance Institute of South Africa.
